Western Railway - Indian Railways

Western Railway in its present form came into existence on 5th November, 1951 by the merger of its forerunner, the erstwhile Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway (BB&CI), with other State Railways viz, Saurashtra, Rajputana and Jaipur. The BB&CI Railway was itself incorporated in 1855, starting with the construction of a 29 mile broad gauge track from Ankleshwar to Utran in Gujarat state on the West Coast. In 1864, the railway was extended up to Mumbai.

Applications are invited from eligible sports persons for the following posts on Western Railways :

Group C
Number of vacancies : 03
Pay Scale : PB 1 Rs. 5200-20200 Grade pay 2400 / 2800
Qualification : Graduate

Group C
Number of vacancies : 09
Pay Scale : PB 1 Rs. 5200-20200 Grade Pay 1900 / 2000
Qualification : Minimum SSC / Matriculate

Group D
Number of vacancies : 14
Pay Scale : PB-1 Rs. 5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs.1800/-
Qualification : Same as Above post

Sports Disciplines : Athletics , Cricket (Men) , Volleyball , Kabaddi , Weightlifting , Football (Men)
Age Limit : Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01.01.2012.

How to Apply :  The filled in application form along with the required documents should be addressed to the Sr. Sports Officer, Western Railway Sports Association, Headquarter Office, Churchgate, Mumbai - 400020  on or before 29/08/2011.
