National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR)

The National Institute of Plant Genome Research (formerly known as National Centre for Plant Genome Research) is an autonomous institution of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. This Institute has already placed India among the major contributors to plant genomics. Genomics research is providing bridges between different branches of natural sciences and as a result it has seen logarithmic growth over last two decades.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Research Associate (RA) and three Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the DBT sub-project-1 entitled “Chickpea genome sequence analysis and its alignment to genetic map” of ‘Next Generation Challenge programme on Chickpea Genomics’ under the supervision of Dr. Mukesh Jain, Scientist, NIPGR.

Research Associate
No. of Vacancies : 01 Post
Emoluments : Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.
Qualifications : Candidates having Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or any other related field are eligible to apply. The candidate should have a good academic record and research experience as evidenced from published papers in standard refereed journals. Candidate having experience in the area of advanced molecular biology, genomics, transcriptomics, microarray data analysis etc. will be given preference.

Junior Research Fellow
No. of Vacancies : 03 Posts
Emoluments : Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.
Qualifications : Candidates having M.Sc. degree or equivalent (with minimum of 55% marks) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology or any other related field are eligible to apply. Candidate having experience in the area of advanced molecular biology, next generation sequencing, data analysis and molecular markers analysis will be given preference.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and one Technical Assistant (TA) in the DBT research project entitled “Comparitive Metabolite of Transgenic and Non-Transgenic Potato Expressing AmA1 Protein” under the supervision of Dr. Subhra Chakaraborty, Scientist, NIPGR.

Senior Research Fellow
Number of Vacancies : 01 Post
Salary : Emoluments as per project sanction & DBT norms.
Qualification : Candidates having M.Sc. degree in Bioinformatics/Life Sciences or any other related field with at least 60% marks and a minimum of two years of Post M. Sc. research experience.

Technical Assistant
Number of Vacancies : 01 Post
Salary : Emoluments as per project sanction & DBT norms.
Qualification : Candidates having M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences/Bioinformatics or any other related field.

The position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
