National Institute of Hydrology (NIH)

National Institute of Hydrology (NIH) is a Government of India Society under Ministry of Water Resources and has been functioning as a research Institute in the area of hydrology and water resources in the country since December 1978 in Roorkee town. The National Institute of Hydrology (NIH) was established in December 1978 as an Autonomous Society under Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India. Main objectives of the Institute are to undertake, support, promote and coordinate systematic and scientific research work in all aspects of Hydrology and Water Resources. The Institute has its Headquarters at Roorkee (Uttarakhand, India), four regional centres at Belgaum, Jammu, Kakinada and Bhopal and two Centres for Flood Management Studies at Guwahati and Patna. The Institute is well equipped to carry out computer, laboratory and field oriented studies.

NIH invites applications from Indian Nationals for Research Intern awards (for HQs at Roorkee and Regional Centres at Bhopal, Jammu and Guwahati). The Research Internship is meant to be a preparatory phase for young interns in imbibing the spirit of enquiry and learning the tools and techniques of research through participation and doing.

Research Intern

Stipend : Rs 15,000/- p.m. consolidated. No other allowances shall be payable
Qualifications : 1st class or equivalent GPA in BE/BTech/MSc/Master’s Degree
Age limit : 25 years as on the closing date
Duration : 3 years
