Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram is an Autonomous Institution of national importance under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India established in 2008 for promotion of high quality education and research in basic sciences. The Institute is presently functioning at the transit campus in the College of Engineering, Trivandrum. The construction of its permanent residential campus at Vithura (40 km from Thiruvananthapuram) in the foothills of Ponmudi range will start soon. This Institutional campus is to be developed with the state of the art layout, architecture designs and latest green building features etc. The Institute is looking for suitable persons to hold the following positions of executive responsibility offering opportunities in building projects of large township including services works for the said upcoming residential institutional campus. Applications are invited from Indian nationals possessing the prescribed qualifications and experience as under:
Code 10: Project Engineer cum Estate Officer – 1 Post (unreserved)
Pay: Rs. 15600-39100 (PB-3) with an initial pay of Rs.18750/- + Grade Pay Rs.6600 (initial basic pay will be Rs.25350/-)Total emoluments will be Rs.44,148/- as on date.
Qualification:
Graduate in Civil Engineering with First Class
Experience:
A minimum six years of experience in building projects/campus development/maintenance out of which three years should be in the Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/- or equivalent. Preference will be given to those who have experience in handling similar works in national institutions, DAE, DOS /ISRO etc.
Age: Below 45 years.
Job requirements:
The incumbent will be in-charge of the campus construction activities of the Institute and also have to function as Estate Officer of the upcoming permanent campus as well as the transit campus of IISER-TVM. He shall be also responsible for contract management of all works contracts related to construction and maintenance etc.
Code 11: Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) – 1 Post (unreserved)
Pay: Rs. 15600-39100 (PB-3) with an initial pay of Rs.15600/- + Grade Pay Rs.5400 (initial basic pay will be Rs.21000/-). Total emoluments will be Rs.36970/- as on date.
Qualification:
Graduate in Civil Engineering with First Class.
Experience:

General Conditions /Instructions and Benefits:
1. The above positions are intended for the permanent campus of IISER-TVM at Vithura, Thiruvananthapuram District.
2. All posts carry usual allowances i.e. DA, HRA and Transport Allowance etc. as admissible to Central Govt. Employees posted in Thiruvananthapuram from time to time. (b) In addition to the emoluments, benefits such as New Defined Contributory Pension Scheme, Leave Travel Concession, Reimbursement of Medical expenses for self and dependents, etc. are available as per G.O.I rules, as applicable to the employees of IISER-TVM.
3. Reservation, Relaxations and Concessions will be in accordance with Government of India Rules.
4. The candidates must be citizens of India.
5. Age and experience will be reckoned as on the last date for receipt of application form. 6. Candidates applying for more than one post may apply separately for each post indicating the name and Code Number of the post.
7. The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities/ Institutions.
8. The prescribed Qualifications / Experience are the minimum and mere possession of the same will not entitle the candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large, the Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. The candidates should, therefore, furnish details of all the qualifications and experience possessed with copies of certificates. The decision of the Institute in all these matters will be final. No interim enquires/ correspondence/ communication of any sort will be entertained in the matter.
9. Relaxation in age, educational qualification and / or experience will be considered in case of outstanding candidates and/or persons already holding analogous positions in a Government organizations / Central Technical Institutes / Universities / Research institutions.
10. Persons working under the Central/State Government /Public Sector Undertakings /Central Autonomous Bodies shall submit their applications through proper channel. They may, however, send an advance copy of the application along with enclosures as required. Those who are unable to forward their application through proper channel may submit NOC from their employer at the time of interview.
11. All posts could also be considered for filling up on Deputation basis on Foreign Service terms for a minimum period of three years in the case of the candidates working in Govt. organization / Public sector undertaking / Govt. funded research agencies. Such candidates should forward their application through proper channel and with an undertaking that the applicant, if selected, will be relieved within one month of receipt of appointment order. However, an advance copy of the application can be sent direct. Those who are unable to forward their application through proper channel may submit NOC from their employer at the time of interview.
12. The Institute reserves its right to consider anyone it deems fit for the above position and not necessarily confine itself to those who respond to this announcement.
13. Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid to and fro AC-III tier rail fare by the shortest route.
14. Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.
15. A one page write-up of the applicant’s appreciation of the role and functions of the post to which applying, his/her perception of contributing to the development of the Institute and how he/she is considered to be suited for the post, should accompany every application.
