The APSPDCL invites applications from eligible candidates in I.T.I. (Electrical Trade) for filling up of the SC/ST Backlog vacancies of Junior Linemen on or before   03.01.2011 in the following Operation Circles of APSPDCL.

Criteria for Selection:
a) The Candidates shall be selected strictly based on the following criteria
i) ITI Electrician qualification is compulsory.
ii) Meter Reading, Cycling and Pole Climbing is compulsory.
b) The Selection of the candidates shall be based on verification of the following documents :
i) SSC Pass certificate
ii) ITI Electrical pass certificate & marks list
iii) Community Certificate
iv) Proof of Residence: Ration card (Multipurpose Household card) issued by the Mandal Revenue Officer concerned.
v) Two passport size photographs attested by a Gazetted Officer in addition to the  photos affixed on the application.
c) The Selection Committee shall ensure that the requirement of  Community Roster are fulfilled as per rules in force.

The candidates can apply for the available vacancies in the respective circle only and their candidature shall be considered for the vacancies existing in that Circle only. All the vacancies are backlog vacancies of SC/ST and they are filled by local candidates only who are native of  respective circle.

The Local eligible candidates who belongs to SC/ST community can only apply for the above posts. Since all the above backlog vacancies are kept reserved for SC/ST  candidates only

Local Area / Nativity:
Each District/Circle will be regarded as Local area With spirit of  Presidential Order. The candidate who apply for the above posts should belong to that Circle/District only and further it is informed that the candidate should produce the Study Certificate from Class IV to X or Residence Certificate(in the proforma enclosed) for deciding that he belongs to concerned circle/District.

The Residence Certificates will be accepted only in respect of candidates who have not studied in any Educational Institutions up to SSC examination.

Other terms and conditions of appointment:
i)Application should be sent in a cover superscribed as Application for the post of JLM to the address of the Superintending Engineer/Operation/APSPDCL Concerned.
ii)Applications received after due date and time i.e., after 03.01.2011 at 5.00 PM will be rejected summarily.  The DISCOM is not responsible for postal delay.
iii)Application forms not accompanied by the copies of attested certificates mentioned as above shall be summarily rejected.
iv)One self addressed envelope 11inch X 5inch duly affixing the requisite postal stamps for intimation through registered post has to accompany the application form.
v)Only SC/ST male candidates are eligible.
vi)Canvassing in any form would be  disqualification
vii)The decision of S.E/Opn./ Circle concerned would be final in this regard and no correspondence whatsoever would be entertained on this subject.

Applications in the prescribed format are invited from Ex-Servicemen to fill up 810 vacancies (S.Rly.- 796 & ICF- 14) in Pay Band – 1 of Rs.5,200-20,200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1,800/- (erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts) in Southern Railway (S.Rly.) and Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai.

Eligibility Criteria:
Ex-Serviceman who has retired after putting in 15 years of service and has passed Army Class-I certificate or equivalent will be considered eligible.

Age Limit (As On 01.01.2011): Age limit to the extent of period of service plus three years.

General Instructions:
1. The candidates applying in response to this notification shall ensure that he / she fulfils all eligibility conditions at the time of submission of Application.
2. The number of vacancies shown in this notification is provisional and the same is liable to increase or decrease or even become NIL, depending upon the actual needs of the administration.
3. Enclosures: Self – attested Photostat copy of the certificates in support of Military service (Discharge Certificate) and Community (For candidates belonging to SC/ST only) need to be enclosed along with application.
4. Original Certificate/ Documents
1.1 It is the responsibility of the candidates to produce original certificates / documents along with Self – attested Photostat copy in support of ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Educational Qualifications’, and ‘Military service (Discharge Certificate)’ at the time of Document Verification, failing which, his/her application shall be rejected.
1.2 It is the responsibility of the candidates to produce original certificates / documents along with Self – attested Photostat copy in support of Community (if candidates claiming to belong to SC/ST/OBC) at the time of Document Verification.
1.3 The candidate shall attend the Document verification, along with all relevant original certificates, at the date, time & venue specified by Railway Recruitment Cell.
1.4 Similarly, the candidate shall attend Medical Examination at the date, time & venue specified by Railway Recruitment Cell.
1.5 Any request for change of date, time & venue will not be entertained.
1.6 Travel Expenses: SC/ST candidates alone will be issued with II-Class Free Pass for their journey from their nearest Railway Station to the venue of Document verification and Medical Examination. Others will have to make their own arrangements. No reimbursement of travel expenses will be made on any account.
1.7 Accommodation: All the candidates will have to make their own arrangements for their accommodation while coming for Document verification and Medical Examination. They must also come prepared to stay for few days, if required. RRC will not make any arrangement for providing accommodation.
1.8 Mere issue of Call Letter to the candidate will not imply that his or her candidature has been finally cleared by the RRC, Chennai.
1.9 The RRC, Chennai, is free to reject any application not fulfilling the requisite Eligibility Criteria, at any stage of recruitment. If appointed erroneously, such candidate’s services shall be summarily terminated without any notice.
1.10 The selected candidates are not having any exclusive right for any Post, Department & Railway/ Production Unit. In the interest of Administrative exigencies, selected candidates are likely to be posted anywhere, in any post / category / Department of Southern Railway/ Integral Coach Factory, after successful completion of training, wherever prescribed. The decision of the Railway administration is final.
1.11 Decision of Railway Recruitment Cell, Chennai, in all matters relating to recruitment will be final and binding on the candidates.

The ‘Application Form’ given in this notification should be neatly typed or handwritten on a good quality, A – 4 size plain paper, using one side only. Candidates should fill up the required information in his / her own handwriting only. Photo: One passport size photograph (not older than one month) should be pasted on the application form, at the space specified.
