National Institute of Virology (NIV)

The National Institute of Virology is one of the major Institutes of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It was established at Pune, Maharashtra State in 1952 as Virus Research Centre (VRC) under the auspices of the ICMR and the Rockefeller Foundation (RF), USA. It was an outcome of the global programme of the RF for investigating the Arthropod Borne viruses. Since the studies on arboviruses and their arthropod vectors involve most of the basic principles and techniques of general virology, entomology and zoology, these viruses were also considered to be an ideal group, to begin with, for intensive training and research in virology in our country.

The following vacancies shall be filled purely on temporary basis at NIV Pune renewable annually under Non-Institutional ad-hoc projects to be filled in through Walk-in Interview as indicated below

Senior Research Fellow
No. of Vacancies : 01 Post
Stipend : Rs 18,000/- plus HRA
Qualifications : M.Sc. (Life Sciences) Microbiology, Biochemistry, Botany.  Two years research experience.
Age limit : Below 35 years

Research Associate
No. of Vacancies : 01 Post
Stipend : Rs 23,000/- plus HRA
Qualifications : M.D./Ph.D. in life science with 3 years post doctoral experience
Age limit : 40 years

Technical Officer – A (Engg. Electronics)
No. of Vacancies : 01 Post
Stipend : Rs. 23,908/-
Qualifications : Graduates degree in Engineering with 2 years experience or 3 years Diploma in Engineering with 3 years experience
Age limit : Below 30 years
