Indian Coast Guard (ICG)

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is one of the auxiliary branches of the Indian Armed Forces, tasked with the mission to guard the Republic of India’s maritime interests. The Indian Coast Guard is an armed force of the Union of India, under the Ministry of Defence. The Indian Coast Guard was formally established on 18th August 1978 as an independent entity as per the Coast Guard Act. The ICG mission is to protect India’s maritime interests, including its coastline, Exclusive Economic Zone and Shipping. It is also tasked with Indian maritime law enforcement relating to ocean resources, shipping, customs and revenue, maritime environment, protected species as well as narcotics.

Applications are invited from male Indian Nationals possesing educational qualifications and age as prescribed below, for recruitment to the post of Naviks (General Duty)/ Navik (Domestic Branch) in the Indian Coast Guard  :

Navik (General Duty)  in the Pay Scale : Rs. 5200 - 20200 with Rs.2000 Grade Pay, Qualification: 10+2 with Maths and Physics from an education board recognised by central/ state government.,  Age: Born between 01 February 1990 and 31 January 1994.Navik (Domestic Branch)  in the Pay Scale : Rs. 5200 - 20200 with Rs.1900 Grade Pay, Qualification: Matriculate / 10th/ High School,  Age: Born between 01 April 1990 and 31 March1994.

The application is to be submitted on plain paper in the form appended (type written/hand written in English/Hindi) and is to be sent to the address of Zonal recruitment centre. Last date of receipt of Applications is 25/07/2011 (For far-flung areas, the last date is 01/08/2011)
