The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER)

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavour to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempt to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. It was also envisaged that these specialists would spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions.  The PGIMER was also given the responsibility to broaden the horizons of medical knowledge by intensive research in the field of health.

Applications are invited for the contractual posts of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Lab Assistant in the ICMR funded project entitled “Effect of Metformin on Alzheimer Disease in Rats”

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
No. of Vacancies : 01 Post
Pay Scale : Rs 16,000/- fixed per month plust HRA (20%)
Qualifications : First Class Master’s Degree in Pharmacology/Life Sciences from a recognized university (as per ICMR rules). Preference will be given to ICMR/GATE/NET qualified and experienced candidates
Age limit : As per GOI rules

Lab Assistant
No. of Vacancies : 01 Post
Pay Scale : Rs 16,179/- per month (fixed)
Qualifications : As per ICMR rules

The above appointment will be purely on contract basis for one year, likely to continue till the project is continued.

Applications are invited on prescribed proformas for the post of Hospital Engineer (RAC) on deputation basis from eligible officers working in the Centre/States/UT’s Government(s) and in other PSU’s/Government agencies, in the Central Pay Scale with the qualification mentioned below, along-with their last 5 years ACRs/, Vigilance clearance.

Hospital Engineer (RAC)
Number of Vacancies : 01 Post
Pay Scale : PB:3, Rs.15,600-39,100/- + Grade Pay Rs. 6,600/-
Qualification : The officer should be in the equivalent grade of XEN’s OR AE’s with at least 8 years experience in the grade and possessing degree in respective branch of Engineering. Here respective branch of Engineering means in HVAC / RAC OR in Mechanical with specialization in HVAC/RAC.

1. Anatomy :
No of Post : 04 posts (gen-03, SC-01),
Essential Qualification & Experience : Candidates must have passed MBBS not less than 50% marks in AIIMS Examination which was held in 14.11.2010. Eligible candidates only may apply for the post OR A postgraduate qualification, e.g. MS in Surgery/ a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 18400 to 22400 + NPA.

2. Biophysics :
No of Post : 02 posts (OBC-01, ST-01),
Essential Qualification & Experience : Candidates must have passed MBBS OR MS in Surgery/ a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 18400 to 22400 + NPA.

3. Community medicine :
No of Post : 01 post for SC only.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Candidates must have passed MBBS OR MS in Surgery/ a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.

4. Lab medicine :
No of Post : 01 post for SC only.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Candidates must have passed MBBS OR MS in Surgery/ a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.

5 Microbiology :
No of Post : 01 post for SC only.

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER)

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavour to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempt to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. It was also envisaged that these specialists would spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions.  The PGIMER was also given the responsibility to broaden the horizons of medical knowledge by intensive research in the field of health.

Applications on prescribed form are invited from the citizens of India for the following posts in various medical specialities :

Professor : 08 posts in various specialities, Pay Scale : Rs.37400-67000 + Grade Pay Rs.10500/-Associate Professor : 01 post in Medical Oncology, Pay Scale : Rs.37400-67000 + Grade Pay Rs.9000/-Assistant Professor : 26 posts, Pay Scale : Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.8000/-

How to Apply : Application form and detailed information can be obtained from the office of the Recruitment Cell, PGIMER, Chandigarh-160012 either personally or on written request accompanied by a self addressed & stamped (Rs.10/-) envelope (27 cm x 12 cm) along with a Demand Draft of Rs.525/- (Rs.275 for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of the Director PGIMER, Chandigarh payable at State Bank of India, Sector 12, Chandigarh (Code No.1524) as non-refundable fee and cost of application form etc. The same application form can also be obtained from PGIMER website, a DD of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates) should be attached with application towards application fee.
