The Project Directorate on Poultry (PDP) is one of the constituent research institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), an autonomous multidisciplinary Research & Development Organization financially supported by Govt. of India. The Directorate was set up as a coordinating unit of All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Poultry in 1970 at Izatnagar, Uttar Pradesh. The objectives of the Directorate are to coordinate research at AICRP centers located across the country and conduct research on the development and improvement of chicken lines for commercial and rural poultry production.

Pay Scale : Rs.23,000-00 +H.R.A. for Master Degree Holders and Rs.24,000-00 + HRA for Doctoral Degree Holders as per (ICAR) norms.
Qualification : Post graduation with two years experience or Ph.D. in Life Sciences (Microbiology/Biotechnology). Isolation and identification of poultry pathogens.
Desirable: Knowledge in Animal disease forecasting, computer applications. Skills in molecular and immunological techniques.
Age limit : 40 years for Men 45 years for Women

Senior Research Fellow

Pay Scale : Rs.16,000-00 + H.R.A. Per month
Qualification : Post graduation in Life Sciences/ Veterinary Science.
Desirable: Poultry farm operations, computer application and weather data collection.
Age limit : 35 years for Men 40 years for Women

Educational Qualification: M.V.Sc. in Poultry Science/ Nutrition/Biochemistry /LPM/ M.Sc. Biochemistry. M.V.Sc. in Animal Genetics and Breeding (Molecular genetics) Poultry Science/ Animal Biotechnology/Microbiology/ M.Sc. Biotechnology.
Desirable: Experience in feed analysis and analytical procedures and gene expression studies.

The National Meat and Poultry Processing Board (NMPPB) is an autonomous body and would initially be funded by the Government of India for two years and would be managed by the industry itself. The Board will have 19 Members including CEO of the Board & the Chairman is from the industry. The Board would serve as a single window service provider for producers/manufacturers and exporters of meat and meat products, for promoting & regulating the meat industry as a whole and it would result in large number of employment opportunities.
