Coir Board

Coir Board is a statutory body established by the Government of India under a legislation enacted by the Parliament namely ‘Coir Industry Act 1953 (45 of 1953)’ for the promotion and development of Coir Industry in India. It is based in in Ernakulam and Alappuzha. The Head Office of the Coir Board is at Ernakulam and the Reasearh cum Training Office is at Kalavoor, Alappuzha. Coir Industry is one of the traditional industry in India which still at its high. Coir Board is having Regional Offices at different parts of India where there is coir industry. Board works for the promotion, research, education and training of the coir industry.

Applications in the prescribed form are invited for the following Posts under the Coir Board.

Senior Scientific Officer(Mechanical Extraction)
Pay Band Rs. 15600-39100 +5400 (Grade Pay).
Age: Not exceeding 40 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: M.Sc. First Class in Textile Technology with two years experience in Design.

Assistant Director (Training)
Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + 4600 (Grade Pay).
Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: Graduate in Science with Diploma in advanced Coir Technology and three years practical experience

Scientific Assistant(Engineering)
Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + 4200 (Grade Pay)
Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: First or Second Class Bachelor’s Degree in MechanicalEngineering OR First or Second Class Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years experience in running or maintenance of textile processing or machinery or equipment.

Investigator
Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + 4200 (Grade Pay)
Age: Not exceeding 28 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: First or Second Class Degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/Commerce/Business Management.

Assistant
Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + 4200 (Grade Pay)
Age: Not exceeding 28 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: First or Second Class Graduate.

Junior Stenographer
Pay Band Rs.5200-20200 + 2400 (Grade Pay)
Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: SSLC or Equivalent with 100 words per minute in Shorthand and 40 w.p.m. in Typewriting.

Upper Division Clerk
Pay Band Rs.5200-20200 + 2400 (Grade Pay)
Age: Not exceeding 27 years as on 21.09.2011 (Relaxable for Government servants up to 40 years in the case of general candidates and 45 years in the case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.)
Qualifications: (i) Degree in any discipline from a recognized university (ii) One year experience of Knowledge in Computer application and word processing.

Junior Auditor
Pay Band Rs.5200-20200 + 2400 (Grade Pay)
Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on 21.09.2011.
Qualifications: A Degree from a recognized university with two years’ experience in the accounts branch of a public or private sector undertaking.
