Pondicherry University

Pondicherry University is a Central University in Pondicherry, India. Founded in 1985 by the Government of India,has emerged as India’s fastest growing Central University and it is an affiliating University with a jurisdiction spread over the Union Territories of Puducherry, Lakshadweep  and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It has 35000 students in its 87 affiliated colleges in addition to 5500 students enrolled on the main campus and another 27,000 students in the distance education mode. It is credited with being a pioneering distance-learning institution in India with innovations like Choice-based Credit System and on-line admission for postgraduate studies.

Research Associate
Number of Positions: 01 (One)

Educational Qualification: Ph.D in Anthropology /Ph.D with specialization in the field of tribal enthographic study in any discipline of social sciences, candidates with fluent knowledge in the languages of English , Hindi and or Oriya is necessary. If the suitable candidates are not available for the post of Research Associate it will be considered as Projet Fellow with a consolidated pay of Rs 8000/- for project fellow the Ph.D qualification is exempted.

Desirable: Ph.D with field work experience in Visual Anthropology in the tribal areas. The candidates with post graduation in film production, editing and dubbing is preferred. The Selected candidate has to travel widely to do the research among the Primitive Tribal Groups in habited in the states of orissa . Chanttisgargh and madhya Pradesh .Preference will be given to those candidates who have knowledge in Non -linear editing visual studio and operating knowledge of apple computer i movies.
