The Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) set up in 1954 is the only national center in the country where research in all disciplines relating to fishing and fish processing is undertaken. The institute started functioning at Cochin in 1957. Research centers function at Veraval (Gujarat), Visakhapatnam (AP), Burla (Orissa), Mumbai (Maharashtra).
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Number of Post : 01 (one)
Qualification : MFSc/MSc in Marine Biology / Fisheries/ Industrial Fisheries. Candidate must have knowledge in identification and cataloguing of planktons, marine organism, gut content analysis and bio optical studies. The person must be willing to go to sea frequently for sampling in traditional canoes and boats. Desirable: Seagoing experience and knowledge in use of computer, satellite data processing and statistical analysis of data.
Duration of the Project : Up to March, 2012
Emoluments : Rs.12000/-
Age as on 31.07.2011 : Below 35 years for men and 40 years for women

Walk-In-Interview will be held on 20.08.2011 at 10.00 am at Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin. Candidates should bring with them original documents along with detailed bio-data affixing a recent passport size photograph and copies of the certificate, on the day of interview.
