
The University of Madras (Tamil: ???????? ?????????????; U of M or UMadras) is a public research university in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the three oldest universities in India (along with the University of Calcutta and the University of Mumbai). The university is modeled after the University of London and was incorporated on 5 September 1857 by an act of the Legislative Council of India, and is regulated by the University Grants Commission of the government of India.

Educational Qualification: Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university and have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC,
