Indian Coast Guard (ICG)

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is one of the auxiliary branches of the Indian Armed Forces, tasked with the mission to guard the Republic of India’s maritime interests. The Indian Coast Guard is an armed force of the Union of India, under the Ministry of Defence. The Indian Coast Guard was formally established on 18th August 1978 as an independent entity as per the Coast Guard Act. The ICG mission is to protect India’s maritime interests, including its coastline, Exclusive Economic Zone and Shipping. It is also tasked with Indian maritime law enforcement relating to ocean resources, shipping, customs and revenue, maritime environment, protected species as well as narcotics.

Applications are invited from male citizens of India possessing educational qualifications and age as prescribed below for recruitment to the post of Enrolled Followers (Safai Wala) in the Indian Coast Guard, an armed force of  the union.

Enrolled Followers (Safai Wala)
No. of Vacancies : 06 Posts (Gen-4,OBC-1,SC-1)
Pay Scale : Rs 5,200-20,200 + GP 1,800
Qualifications : Matriculation or Industrial Training Institute or Equivalent
Medical standard : Minimum Height – 157 cm, Weight – Proportionate to height, Chest – Well proportioned, Minimum expansion 5 cm, Eye sight – 6/18
Age limit : Born between 10 Nov 1994 to 09 Nov 1987 (Upper age relaxation of 5 yrs for SC and 3 yrs for OBC candidates)
