Indian Coast Guard (ICG)


The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is one of the auxiliary branches of the Indian Armed Forces, tasked with the mission to guard the Republic of India’s maritime interests. The Indian Coast Guard is an armed force of the Union of India, under the Ministry of Defence. The Indian Coast Guard was formally established on 18th August 1978 as an independent entity as per the Coast Guard Act. The ICG mission is to protect India’s maritime interests, including its coastline, Exclusive Economic Zone and Shipping. It is also tasked with Indian maritime law enforcement relating to ocean resources, shipping, customs and revenue, maritime environment, protected species as well as narcotics.


The Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union, offers a challenging and inspiring career to the 03 years Diploma holders (Mechanical) as Yantrik, with details qualifications as follow :


Yantrik
Pay Scale : Rs 5,200-20,200/- + GP Rs 2,400/-
Qualifications : Matriculate and three years Diploma in Mechanical Engg. recognised by AICTE with 55% marks in aggregate.
Age limit : Born between 01 Aug 90 to 31 Jul 94. (Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates)
