
The Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) set up in 1954 is the only national center in the country where research in all disciplines relating to fishing and fish processing is undertaken. The institute started functioning at Cochin in 1957. Research centers function at Veraval (Gujarat), Visakhapatnam (AP), Burla (Orissa), Mumbai (Maharashtra).
Eligible candidates having the prescribed qualifications are invited to attend a Walk-in-Interview for appointment to the temporary posts of Research Officer and Research Assistant under the ICSSR funded Project on ‘Assessment of Sustainable Livelihood Interventions and Entrepreneurial Skills among Coastal Women Self Help Groups using Participatory Methodologies’. The project involves frequent tours and extensive field visits within Kerala.
Research Officer

Qualification: Post graduate in Agricultural Extension/ Fisheries Extension/Fisheries/ Industrial Fisheries/ Social work/ Agricultural Economics/ Fisheries Economics/ Sociology
Desirable: Experience in field survey/ PRA tools; knowledge in use of computer and statistical analysis of data
Age Limit: 35-40 years
Research Assistant
Number of Vacancies : 01 (One) Post
Pay Scale: Rs. 10,500 p.m.
Qualification: Graduate in Agriculture/ Fisheries/ Industrial Fisheries/ Social work/ Sociology.
Desirable: Experience in fisheries, field survey, PRA tools, data collection and analysis
Age Limit: 35-40 years
