The Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG), Mumbai is a leading institute of the country, actively engaged in basic and applied research in Geomagnetism and allied areas of Geophysics, Atmospheric & Space Physics and Plasma Physics. The Institute now operates with two regional centres and twelve modern magnetic observatories at various locations in India.

Qualifications : First or high second class Master’s  degree in Physics/ Maths / Geophysics / Geology/ Electronics  or B.E. (Electronics). 2 years experience of working in the relevant field in a reputed Research Laboratory / Institute/ University.
Desirable: Knowledge and experience in any one of the following :  Geomagnetism and related fields, Numerical Methods and Computer Programming, Electronics
Age limit : 30 years

Fellow
No. of Vacancies : 02 Posts (UR)
Pay Scale : Rs 15,600-39,100 + GP 5,400/-
Qualifications : A First class Master’s degree in Physics/Geophysics/ Mathematics. Preference will be given to those who have Doctorate degree in Geomagnetism or Allied fields or have 3 years research experience in these fields in a reputed Research Laboratory/Institute/University.
Age limit : 35 years
