Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU)

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is a public university near the town of Katra in the Reasi District of Jammu and Kashmir in India. Established in 1999  by an Act of the J&K State Legislature, as a fully residential and technical university to offer scientific and technical education. SMVDU is established as a Statutory University of the J&K Legislature under it’s Act of 1999 which defines it as a technical and fully residential university. It is recognised by UGC under section 2(f) & 12(b) and receives grants from UGC. Spread over an area of 470 acres of unblemished and pristine beauty, the campus draws strength from its proximity to the shrine of the goddess, after which it is named. The university is providing science and management based engineering  education in subjects of contemporary importance.

SMVDU, Technical University of J&K legislature is a fully residential institution set up on the pattern of IITs. The University has established 10 Academic Schools to impart UG, PG and Ph. D. Level education. Applications are invited for faculty positions at the following level:

Professor: Pay Scale : Rs.37400-67000 with Grade Pay Rs.10000/-,Associate Professor: Pay Scale : Rs.37400-67000 with Grade Pay Rs.9000/-

Qualification : Ph.D. degree with high CGPA or first class degree at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the appropriate branch of Economics/ English/ Architecture, with a very good academic record throughout. For Architecture Degree, however, M.Arch./ B. Arch. candidates can be considered with experience appropriate for the posts.
