Kolkata Police Force

The Kolkata Police Force is one of the two police forces of the Indian state of West Bengal. Kolkata Police has the task of policing the metropolitan area of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India, as defined under the Calcutta Police Act, 1866 and the Calcutta Suburban Police Act,1866. At present Kolkata Police has 5 divisions covering 66 Police Stations. It has a strength of approximately 26,000. There are 8 battalions of Armed Police well as specialized branches like the Detective Department, Special Branch, Reserve Force, Traffic Police, Enforcement Branch, Wireless Branch and Security Control Organization.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Constable in Kolkata Police in the prescribed form:

Pay Scale : Rs 5,400-25,200/- + GP 2,600/-
Qualifications :  The candidate should be meritorious sportsman subject to the provisions given below:
Sportsman who have represented in a State or National or International level competition, Inter- University Tournaments (Conducted by The Inter-University Sports Board) and National Sports/Games for Schools (Conducted by the All India School Games Federation) in the following sports and games: Athletics, Badminton, Basket Ball, Cricket, Footbal, Hockey, Swimming, Table Tennis, Volley Ball, Tennis, Weight lifting, Wrestling, Boxing, Cycling, Gymnastics, Judo, Riffle Shooting, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho
Educational Qualification : The applicant must have passed Madhyamik Examination under W.B.B.S.E or equivalent.
Age limit : 18-27 years
