Visva-Bharati University

Visva-Bharati University (Bengali: ?????????? ??????????????) is a Central University for research and teaching in India, located in the twin towns of Santiniketan and Sriniketan in the state of West Bengal. It was founded by Rabindranath Tagore who called it Visva Bharati, which means the communion of the world with India. The university is divided in to institutes, centres, departments and schools. The respective departments are included in the institutes. The university’s programmes dealing with its rich cultural heritage as well as art and dance education are funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

Applications are invited for the Post of a Project Fellow for a UGC Major Research Project of Dr. Amrit Sen, entitled, “Rabindranath Tagore and Science”.

Honorarium : Rs 14,000/- per month (Consolidated)
Qualifications : M.A. in English with minimum 55% Marks (50% in case of SC/ST Candidates) or MPhil in the subject concerned. Interest and publications in the field of the History of Science and Tagore Studies are preferred.
Age limit : Below 40 years
Tenure of the Project : 2 (Two) years till March, 2015
