National Agri – Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI)

National Agri – Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is an autonomous institute of the Department of biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, located in the Knowledge City at Mohali, Punjab. The institute aims at catalysing the transformation of agri – food sector in India.

The institute carries out cutting edge research at the interface of agricultural biotechnology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, food processing, postharvest technology, and nutritional sciences. Applications are invited for the following positions under externally funded project “Transfer and Evaluation of Indian Banana with Pro-Vitamin A (PVA) Constructs”:-

Project Scienctist
No. of Vacancies : 01 Post
Remuneration: Consolidated @ Rs.40,000/- per month. Leave, medical and other benefits as per NABI rules.
Qualifications : Ph.D. awarded in any branch of life/plant sciences
Desirable : Excellent academic record with research experience in area relevant to plant metabolic engineering and molecular biology. Knowledge and experience of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry based technological analysis of samples and standardization of methodologies for fractionation, separation and identification of bio-molecules. Relevant research publications in reputed international journals with five or more cumulative impact factor.
Age limit: 35 years as on the last date of receipt of application.

Project Fellow
No. of Vacancies : 02 Posts
Remuneration: Consolidated @ Rs.16, 000/- per month for first 2 years and Rs.18,000/- per month after 2 years. Leave, medical and other benefits as per NABI rules.
Qualifications : Ist Class M.Sc./M.Tech. in Life Science/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry
Desirable : Excellent academic record with interest and knowledge of plant genetic transformation and molecular biology.
Age limit: 35 years as on the last date of receipt of application

Lab/Field Project Assistant
No. of Vacancies : 02 Posts
Remuneration: Consolidated @ Rs.10,000/- per month as per NABI rules.
Qualification: M.Sc /B. Tech or higher degree in Life Science/Biotechnology / Biochemistry/ Botany/ Agriculture/ Agronomy
Age limit: 28 years* as on the last date of receipt of application.
