Indian Income Tax Department

The Indian Income Tax Department is governed by the Central Board for Direct Taxes (CBDT) and is part of the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India. On one hand, CBDT provides essential inputs for policy and planning of direct taxes in India,at the same time it is also responsible for administration of direct tax laws through the Income Tax Department.

The Chief Commissioner of Income-tax (Cadre Controlling Authority), Mumbai, invites applications for the recruitment of meritorious sportspersons in different games, sports, as listed below, for the posts of Inspector of Income-tax ,Tax Assistant and Multi Tasking Staff.The posts are purely temporary but likely to be made permanent. The probation period is of 2 (two) years.

Inspector of Income-tax
No. of Vacancies : 14 Posts
Pay Scale : Rs.9300-34800/- (Grade Pay Rs.4600/-)
Qualifications : Degree of a recognized university or equivalent
Age limit : 18-27 years

Tax Assistant
No. of Vacancies : 56 Posts
Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200/- (Grade Pay Rs.2400/-)
Qualifications : Degree as above and Data Entry speed of 8000 key depression per hour
Age limit : 18-27 years

Multi Tasking Staff
No. of Vacancies : 11 Posts
Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200/- (Grade Pay Rs.1800/-)
Qualifications : Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized University /Board
Age limit : 18-25 years

Sports Eligibility:
Appointments can be made of a sportsperson in any of the games/sports (as mentioned considered meritorious with reference to the following criteria:
Sports-persons having represented
(i) The Country in an International Competition.(ii) A state in a National Competition.(iii) Their University in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board.(iv)The State Schools Team in the National Sports / Games for schools conducted by All India School Games Federation; or (v) Sportsperson, who has been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive.

How to apply:
Applications must be submitted in the format given in Annexure-II and addressed to the ITO (HQ-)OSD-Personnel in R. No. 362, Aaykar Bhavan, M K Road, New Marine Lines, Mumbai, Maharashtra, 400020, by post / by hand so as to reach the office on or before 15.04.13 (up to 5.00 p.m.). The envelope containing the application shall also be super scribed as follows:
