National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR)

National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR) was established in 1977 as ‘Malaria Research Centre’, which was renamed as ‘National Institute of Malaria Research’ in November 2005. NIMR is one of the institutes of the Indian Council of Medical Research (an autonomous body under Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India). The primary task of the Institute is to find short term as well as long term solutions to the problems of malaria through basic, applied and operational field research.

Applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow to be filled up purely on temporary and contract basis, co-terminus with the project under DBT funded research project entitled “Protease as drug target for malarial parasite, and structural-functional analysis of falstatin, an endogenous cysteine protease inhibitor of falcipains”.  The main focus of our research is to understand the role of proteases in malaria parasite, and study protein-protein interactions during host-parasite cross talk.

Stipend : Rs 16,000/- + HRA (for NET qualified) or Rs 12,000/- + HRA (for non NET Qualified)
Qualifications : M.Sc./M.Tech in Life Sciences viz. Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology.
Age limit : 28 years
Duration : 1 years but likely extendable
