Bose Institute

Bose Institute is a research institute in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Plant biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Animal physiology, Immunotechnology and Environmental science. The institute was established in 1917 by Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose, who was the founder of modern scientific research in India. Bose Institute pioneered the concept of inter-disciplinary research in India in synch with global trends. Its alumni have achieved renown in India and the world.

Bose Institute, Kolkata, invites applications from Indian Citizens for the following temporary positions in the DST sponsored project entitled “ALICE-Operation and Utilization”. Duration of all the following positions will be initially upto 31st March 2014.

Research Associate
No. of Vacancies : 01 Post
Associateship : Rs 22,000/- p.m. + admissible HRA and Medical benefit
Qualifications : Ph.D. in experimental nuclear / particle physics.
Desirable : Experience in data analysis using ROOT based analysis tools preferably in large collider accelerator experiments. Knowledge of writing analysis codes in C++. Ability to work within a large collaborative environment
Age limit : 35 years

Junior Research Fellow
No. of Vacancies : 01 Post
Fellowship : Rs. 16,000/- p.m., plus admissible HRA and Medical benefit for CSIR-UGC NET-JRF. Rs. 12,000/- p.m., plus admissible HRA and Medical benefit for CSIR-UGC NET-LS /GATE
Qualifications : 1st class M.Sc. degree in Physics from recognized University with CSIRUGC NET-JRF or CSIR-UGC NET-LS / GATE qualification
Age limit : 28 years

Technical Assistant
No. of Vacancies : 01 Post
Consolidated Pay : Rs. 20,000/- p.m.
Qualifications : 1st class B.E. / B.Tech/M.Sc. in electronics from recognized University
Desirable : Experience in working with FPGA based embedded system developments
Age limit : 30 years
