Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has been established under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 which consolidates various acts & orders that have hitherto handled food related issues in various Ministries and Departments. FSSAI has been created for laying down science based standards for articles of food and to regulate their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, a statutory regulatory body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare proposes to fill up the following Technical Service posts, on Deputation including Short Term Contract/Contract (outsourced).

Joint Director (Enforcement/Zones)
Number of Vacancies : 05 (Five) Post
Pay Scale: Rs15600-39100 + 7600
Qualification: Officers from Central or State Government/ Autonomous Bodies / government controlled /funded recognised research institutions / Universities / PSUs holding analogous or equivalent post on regular basis; Masters Degree or equivalent from a recognised university or institution in field of Chemistry/Bio chemistry/Food Technology/ Edible Oil Technology/ Microbiology/ Dairy Technology/ Agriculture Sciences/ Veterinary Science/ Bio-technology/ Nutrition / Toxicology or any other related disciplines with twelve years experience of working in research and development in Laboratory/ Research Institutions /Scientific Organisations in the field of food science/ standards/safety out of which six years should be in the managerial capacity

Deputy Directors (PAQA/Surveillance/Enforcement/Codex/Zones)
Number of Vacancies : 22 (Twenty Two) Post
Pay Scale: Rs15600-39100 + 6600
Qualification: Officers from Central or State Government/ Autonomous Bodies/ government controlled /funded recognised research institutions /Universities /PSUs holding analogous or equivalent post on regular basis; Masters Degree or equivalent from a recognised university or institution in field of Chemistry/Bio chemistry/Food Technology/ Edible Oil Technology/ Microbiology/ Dairy Technology/ Agriculture Sciences/ Veterinary Science/ Bio-technology/ Nutrition / Toxicology or any other related disciplines with six years experience of working in research and development in Laboratory/ Research Institutions /Scientific Organisations in the field of food science/ standards/safety out of which 3 years should be in the supervisory capacity

Assistant Directors (PAQA/Surveillance/Enforcement/Codex/Zones)
Number of Vacancies : 17 (Seventeen) Post
Pay Scale: Rs15600-39100 + 5400
Qualification: Masters Degree or equivalent from a recognised university or institution in field of Chemistry/Bio chemistry/Food Technology/ Edible Oil Technology/ Microbiology/ Dairy Technology/ Agriculture Sciences/ Veterinary Science/ Bio-technology/ Nutrition/Toxicology or any other related disciplines with two years experience of working in research and development in Laboratory/ Research Institutions /Scientific Organisations in the field of food science/ standards/safety.

Technical Officer (Headquarters/Zones)
Number of Vacancies : 20 (Twenty) Post
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + 4200
Qualification: Masters Degree or equivalent from a recognised university or institution in field of Chemistry/Bio chemistry/Food Technology/ Edible Oil Technology/ Microbiology/ Dairy Technology/ Agriculture Sciences/ Veterinary Science/ Bio-technology/ Nutrition/Toxicology or any other related disciplines.
