Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), formerly known as Madras Refineries Limited (MRL) was formed as a joint venture in 1965 between the Government of India (GOI), AMOCO and National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) having a share holding in the ratio 74%: 13%: 13% respectively. Originally ,CPCL Refinery was set up with an installed capacity of 2.5 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA) in a record time of 27 months at a cost of Rs. 43 crore without any time or cost over run.
Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), intends to engage Trade, Technician and Technician (Vocational) Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 purely for one year Apprenticeship Training. The details of the Trades / Discipline, eligibility, stipend, etc are as follows:
Trade Apprentice
Number of Vacancies : 36 Posts
Stipend : Rs 3,000/- per month
Qualification : SSLC / Xth pass with I.T.I. certificate affiliated to NCVT securing minimum 60% marks (55 % for SC / ST).
Age limit : 23 years
Technician Apprentice
Number of Vacancies : 60 Posts
Stipend : Rs 4,000/- per month
Qualification : First Class Diploma in Engineering in the respective Discipline with not less 60 % marks (55 % for SC / ST)
Age limit : 25 years
Technician (Vocational) Apprentice
Number of Vacancies : 15 Posts
Stipend : Rs 2,500/- per month
Qualification : A pass in HSC (+2) Vocational course in Office Management / Secretaryship.
Age limit : 23 years
