Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal, formerly Chhotu Ram State College of Engineering, Murthal (CRSCE) started in 1987  and is the first government engineering college in the State of Haryana.  The campus will also[when?] house the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering, established by the Act of Parliament shortly.
